Ragging is strictly illegal and prohibited under the UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, 2009.

UGC Regulations The UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations 2009 prohibit any form of ragging in colleges and universities. Ragging can include verbal abuse, physical harm, forcing someone to do embarrassing acts, or psychological harassment.
Campus Support The college maintains anti-ragging committees and help lines. New students are usually asked to submit an anti-ragging affidavit as part of institutional compliance and student safety.
Confidential Reporting If someone experiences ragging, they can report it confidentially by filling the anti-ragging form or by using official college reporting channels. The college is required to act on every genuine complaint.
