Examination & Evaluation

Semester-based academic evaluation follows the schedule and curriculum prescribed by Punjabi University, Patiala.

External Assessment 70%

Internal Assessment 30%

Minimum Attendance 75%

The academic year is organized into two distinct semesters, following the schedule and curriculum prescribed by Punjabi University, Patiala.

Odd Semester: Typically spanning from July to December.
Even Semester: Typically spanning from January to June.
Assessments, including mid-term evaluations and final university examinations, are conducted independently for each semester.

The performance of a student in each course is evaluated through a dual assessment model.

External Assessment	70%	Final theory and practical examinations conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala, at the conclusion of each semester.
Internal Assessment	30%	Continuous evaluation managed by the respective departments to track student progress throughout the semester.

The 30% weightage for internal marks is calculated based on the following specific criteria.

Attendance	20%	Regularity in lectures and practical sessions. As per university norms, students are expected to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to qualify for the final examinations.
